Installation

Separate the wall hanger from the shelf carefully.  If necessary use the wedges provided, tapping with a mallet.  These wedges are a softer wood that will reduce the chance of damaging the mating edges.  Select a suitable wall position that is as level as possible along the whole shelf length. Small inconsistencies can be overcome by using small washers as spacers between the wall hanger and the wall.  Larger inconsistencies can be masked using a small bead  and longer fixings- please enquire if this is required.  Mark the drill holes through the hanger and drill 45mm (min) deep holes using  6mm dia Masonry drill.  Insert the Fisher Duopower plugs and tap into place so that they do not protrude from the wall surface.  Align the wall hanger to the drilled holes and fix using the 60mm screws using a PZ #3 screwdriver.  Make sure these fixings are tight and secure in the wall.  Align the shelf with the hanger rods and push the shelf firmly and evenly over the full width so that the shelf meets the hanger.  A mallet may be required to complete this task and if so use the supplied wedges to cushion the front edge of the shelf.

The floating shelves have been split using a small kerf (width) saw blade allowing the grain to flow across the joint.  This blade may produce some "browning" due to the friction created.  This is normal and is not usually a cause for concern.  Only a light sanding has been applied to maintain the straightness.
